The compact disc was originally created as a medium for recording audio information, but later began to be used for data of any format. Since information from discs is read using a laser beam, they are also called laser. Although technology has made a significant step forward, the usual CD or DVD discs continue to be used for storing, duplicating and transferring information. For example, presentations, reports and commercial offers for participants of meetings, exhibitions and conferences are recorded on them.
